I think it's funny that you bring that to people's attention. From what I'm to understand by NFL.com they're talking about adding a new team in LA for as early as 2008 season. And I for one am a little offended by your comment about Green Bay, simply because The Packers are the third oldest team in the NFL. Yeah there's local pride, but it's not to validate their existence. I do not feel that a football team can simply solidify a city's point of being. Many things happened there before a stupid professional football team was organized.

Well you guys have already had 2 teams in LA and they both failed miserably. As far as bringing in the revenues that teams need to generate to pay there astronomical player salaries stadium fees etc etc. The Rams were there and so were the RAiders. Both teams did not pack the stadium.without high ticket sales the stadium doesnt fill. if the stadiums dont fill then Nationally Televised games don't happen there. Without the exposure of the National audience the team does not generate the capital or profits needed to be successful, and they take the team to a city that DOES bring them cash. See the houston oilers, now the tennessee Titans the Oakland raiders formerly LA Raiders, Baltimore Ravens Formerly Cleveland Browns Ind. Colts formerly Baltimore Colts Etc. Etc. The NFL is a business and owners go where the money is. always been that way always will. Its no different then any other sport. basketball Charlotte Hornets now the New Orleans Hornets. Vancouver Grizzlie's Now the Memphis Grizzlies ( Oh and there aren't grizzlies in Tennessee by the way) Baseball does it too. Hockey its a money thing. You guy's don't wanna fill the stadiums on Sunday so as the Soup Nazi on Sienfeld would say NO TEAM FOR YOU.

Let's see, you had the Rams, and they left. Then you had a team with tons of history, the Raiders, and they left. How about you guys go to a football game when you have a team and maybe they wouldn't leave. LA has the most fair weather fans in the nation. You guys couldn't be paid to go to a USC Trojans game 8 years ago, now everybody thinks it is the cool thing to do. Besides, once the Laker season starts, everybody flocks to see Kobe and forgets you guys have a team. You want to root for a team, drive to the Chargers, the 49ers, or the Raiders. How may teams does that state need.
Plenty of teams have talked about moving out there. Had Katrina not hit New Orleans, there is a good chance you would be cheering for the LA Saints. Awhile ago, pre-Manning, the Colts talked about moving out there. The Vikings still make the threat. The NFL has already said the next team will be in LA. San Diego threatens to move up there every time a stadium deal gets shot down.
As for Cincinnati and Green Bay, those are places where no matter how bad the teams are people still flock to the stadiums. Plus, Cincinnati has the Reds as well and, before they moved to Sacramento, the Kings were in Cincinnati.

We? I hope you just mean the people of Los Angeles. Because no one else is going to vouch for you guys to get another team. The city screwed up the first two times with the Raiders and Rams. What reason to think that won't just happen again?
I love how you say smaller cities need a team to "validate their existence." That sounds snobby on so many levels.

Go ahead and boycott all of the zero teams you have. Boycott the Superbowls as well. When was the last time it was in LA anyway? The resaon LA has no team is because they don't support their teams when they have them. Even the beloved Dodgers stands are near empty by the end of the game.
It's pobably because the people are so numbed by Hollywood they don't have the attention span to learn the rules or who the players are.

Well since that boycott would likely keep going AFTER you got a team I don't think it is a good idea. That's why the NFL isn't in L.A. They can't get you "fans" to go to the games. Lost the Raiders and Rams in the same year. I think you L.A. people need to just focus on Basketball and such. I don't care how big of a media market it is, if the people won't go to the games then they don't deserve the team.

You had two (LA Raiders, LA Rams) the attendance was so bad that they moved. LA is huge city, but it has a hard time supporting NFL teams.
