It is my experience that adsl lines in athens are nowdays activated between 7-12 working days.
This stands for OTE (state owned provider) and Forthnet

Available bandwidth ranges at the moment from 768 (smallest available) to 10Mbps, it is expected that by May 20Mbps lines will be available at least in Athens.

Outside big cities it takes up to 60 days if there is no network available

available providers i can remember https
www.ote.gr
www.forthnet.gr
www.ontelecoms.gr

New phone lines can take from a week up to a month to connect. It has to do with the availability of lines in the specific location of athens

Will take 12 working days, or les for Athens areas. For instance it took 65 days to get connected in Crete Island without any Network. Usually they provide free of charge the modem/router or wireless access point. It up to you to decide, according to your needs.
Another tip The state telecommunications company which is called (OTE) it is upgrading the Dslams and you can upply even for really wide connection up to 20Mbit.
