It might be just me, but I've noticed it quite a bit. They'll have Tigger for sure, Piglet usually and Pooh of course, but I've hardly ever seen Rabbit. I remember him being quite a major role in the show. I was thinking that maybe the merchandise rights to Rabbit were different or something. Maybe I'm just crazy, I don't know.

Because Disney mainly pushes their version of Pooh,Tigger, and Piglet out in front. I did a nursery in a "Pooh" theme from Sears, and rabbit was featured in the border.

According to Wiki:

" A. A. Milne (the creator of the fictional bear) named the character Winnie-the-Pooh after a toy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, who was the basis for the character Christopher Robin. His toys also lent their names to most of the other characters, except for Owl and Rabbit, who were probably based on real animals, and the Gopher character, who was added in the Disney version."

Well, first, Rabbit wasn't a big favorite of kids. Not the way Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore are. There's lots of Pooh characters that they don't market much, like Owl and Roo.

Also, if they were to make merchandise of Rabbit, it'd just be another stuffed Rabbit. There's plenty of toy rabbits out there already, and there isn't anything to really distinguish Rabbit from other rabbits, you know. Not like Tigger, Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore, who are pretty unmistakable.

Because kids don't like Rabbit. He just didn't seem like one of the gang. I always suspected that if Pooh, Piglet and Tigger knocked over a bank, Rabbit would rat them all out to Christopher Robin.

Your right. Now that I think about it, I have never seen anything with rabbit on it. It's mainly Pooh and Tigger. Then Eeyore and Piglet.

Quite perceptive question. I love pooh and piglet memorabilia, secondly tigger and eyeore. You are not crazy. We and our children remember the ones who made us feel warm & fuzzy. Rabbit was rather grouchy and not so cute. Picture his image on an infant's sleeper...they would have to change his entire look. Rooh and his mom were left out of your list of marketable characters...I think they do okay. And what about Christopher Robin?! Thanks for the memories. I hope I got my memories right.

I have always wondered this. When I was a little kid, I always wished I could get more Rabbit and Gopher merchandise. I guess they just aren't as popular.

While his role is just as important in the stories, the kids just aren't as interested in his character. Merchandising companies go with what sells, and he just doesn't sell as well. It comes down to supply and demand, there is less demand, therefore there is less supply.
