Hi my work collegue's sons mate has a site he has found where he can view the UK live and even zoom in (provided the satelites over head). My mate said it was so good he zoomed right in to his car. Does any one else know the adderss of this site?

Try google Earth (http://earth.google.com/).

None of the sites on the internet provide live satellite pictures, though. Additionally, the satellite pictures are supplemented by aerial pictures from airplanes, when available. The closer to Earth the picture was taken, the better the quality. You'll notice you don't get quite as good a picture of remote areas of the Earth as you do of cities, since the only pictures available of some parts of the Earth are from satellites.

If your friend's car is visible, it's just coincidence that his car happened to be parked there when the picture was taken.
