If one would not prefer to be on my own then the silence seems deafening and morbid. If one isn't used to being on my own after it rather is thrown into aloneness silence could be deafening and morbid. while one needs the solitude of silence to rationalize issues/solutions then the non violent sound of silence is therapeutic.

Depends on what kind of silence it is. If it's just after an argument or I've just seen a really scary movie, yeah silence freaks me out. On the other hand if there's been no turmoil, silence is golden.

Because we're so used to some kind of noise that when there is none, it feels abnormal. Sometimes when it's too quiet, it actually seems like the silence is too loud. And I feel trapped and have to make a loud noise just to break up the nothingness. Boy, we're weird!

Bcuz it all depends on what the silence represents at that particular time and place. Great question by the way, very poetic and so true. :)
