People run from themselves all the time. There are a great many people that think it will better the next time yet they don't do the now mental work. This type of individual finds nothing has changed but they still leave a path of destruction in their wake.
When someone walks away from me I find it is always for the better. We just can't always see it in the now because of hurt feelings. The other side of the coin, why did you attract this to your life? There may be something you need to learn about you.

Because if they "live up" to their mistake with the same person, theres that big huge elephant called "guilt" that will always be in the room. Whether he/she has been forgiven, if the person feels too guilty to continue the relationship and live up to it..it'll never work out. Starting over in a new relationship helps them feel a sense of refreshment from their mistakes, and they feel assured that they won't repeat them. Whereas the person in the previous relationship with whom they committed the "mistake", constantly reminds him/her of the mistake that was made.
To CAGED: You obviously haven't found yourself a good woman.

If someone hurts you they don't deserve you, simple. It's hard to start a new relationship but it's worth it if you feel there is something out there better. Life is too short to waste time being miserable.

Pride. People are too prideful and afraid of being vulnerable to someone else and getting hurt.

B/c its easier for them to move on and not face reality than to work things out and there for find out they were wrong.lol

i think its because they are tired to mend thier relationship.most people do start a new one simply because they are feed up.
