I have only purchased AMD, because it is so much cheaper. I've never used a computer with an Intel chip in it to compare the difference between the two.

i have an Intel 233 Mhz, i was amazed that even XP works on it, a little slow but it works. But my husband wanted to buy an AMD so here it is, Sempron 2400+. i used it for 2 or 3 years, very good as far, no problems at all, but i've never compared it to an Intel of the same speed. i still want an Intel but i'd have to change the mainboard as well.

when i built a pc for the first time i used AMD for the same reason. Intel had the Core Duo Processor thing workin out for them for a while, but AMD developed their own Core Duo Processor after that so that doesnt give me much reason to buy intel

Only ever used intel because if there is a problem (which is rare nowadays) it is easy to get it replaced!
