pediatics is a highly specialized field and takes enormous amounts of strength and patience....
for anyone it's hard to see a child in pain and to have to inflict that pain on purpose (giving shots, starting i.vs,etc) is even harder to cope with-some people are unable to do this.
in cases where children are severely injured it's extremely hard to see a child in that condition, or to lose a child if the injuries are so severe that they die.
also children are not as willing to let someone outside of their closest family do things to them or take care of them-alot of persuasion and gaining the child's trust is involved. good social skills are required
but for the people that have the knack for it, it's a wonderful field and has many benefits

I work for a Pediatric Hospital and I can tell you that it is very stressful, depressing, challenging. Lots of times its different for people to see adults be able to go through some of the pains that you see the children and even infants go through.

For the same reason there are not much people using good grammer and spell check in yahoo questions. Your choice for a career depends on your needs and desires. Your asking a question that can't be answered.
