So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

Depends on what you want to know. If you want to know how i was abducted by aliens and had horrible sex experiments done on me, I have nothing to tell you, but welcome to fairy land! Now as to the real thing. Well nothing much. Mostly conjecture and educated assumptions. We lean towards the theory that Darwinian evolution is a universal phenomenon. just like the H2 atom. To most people involved in this alien life usually is understood to be a microorganism a bacteria a virus a something extremely small. Having only one example of life so far in the universe, that of earth, and having unraveled the major mysteries of DNA/RNA and assuming that the same principles apply everywhere in the universe then anything goes. literally anything. So far we have no evidence of alien life. I will not go into the odds of ever discovering intelligent life in the universe.

From the very limited amount of information I know about aliens, the most important point about them is that there is both "good and bad aliens", just like our human species here on Earth. Also, they are far more advanced than us humans, and at any moment if they wished, they could simply destroy Earth completely if they desired !

We have no solid evidence that aliens do exist or have made contact with this planet. But, the universe is enormous! It's very hard to believe that Earth is the only planet that contains life (not just single-celled organisms).

Okay, this is opinion, though there has been ample evidence of extra terrestrial activity (cave paintings, alien craft sightings). This is speculation, but I believe at least some of the species are hostile. This may explain why our government is so tight lipped on the subject despite the evidence... It may be a matter of extreme national security.

We have absolutely no proof aliens exist, but is probably the surest thing that they do exist.
Aliens, you mean intelligent, objective things like us.
They would have to be based on some sort of DNA,and it could be quite similar to ours.
They are,no doubt, empirical beings like us.
If you consider the variety of life on earth you can realize that they could look like anything you could imagine or you have seen in science-fiction

Aliens staying in mars are 10000 years ahead in evolution than that of human beings, they came in past and built pyramid, they are going to come again in 25 years from now

They communicate via thought, they have the technology to materialize thoughts, they know how to make atom/mass out of energy

1) There's no evidence of them
2) If there were, biology tells us that they'd look very much unlike anything found on earth, which is its own bio-system of animals that evolved separate from anything else in the universe. This is one reason why people's "anecdotes" of encounters with anthropomorphic aliens are most likely fabrications.

Well, if they exist, that would make us aliens as well (that is, to them).
