we just recently moved into my boyfrieds mothers house so we could save up money for a house and i've been having difficulty dealing with the fact that she babies him. (she's traditional mexican mom) she does his laundry for him cooks him whatever he wants...me i've grown up to be independent to take care of my own needs and wants, and i feel as if she's taking over my job as the girlfriend i want to be the one to cook for him and when we had our own apartment we did the laundry together. i want that back but i dont want to offend her, how should i go about making my man into a man again and not a mama's boy.

She's old and set in her ways. You're not going to live there forever. Help her out, maybe together you can make dinner and learn something. Let weekends be her time off and you cook.

Don't try to break up the traditional family tie in a Mexican home.Instead join the Big mama in her chores without feeling that you are being reduced to the status of a Domestic help.SHARE the work, don't take it over until you agree to a fair division of the household chores.You can win her heart and get along famously with her if you don't bend her to your way but recognize the fact that you are now a part of a Mexican Home.In case you don't botch up things now, when you set up your home also help will come from her in emergencies

Oh, geez. Didn't any ever tell you not to live with your in-laws no matter what their race was?? I'm Mexican and my boyfriend is Italian, and I would never move in with his mother nor ask him to move in with mine. Well, as soon as the baby is born, try to move out as quickly as possible....even if you go stay in a 1-bedroom house, who cares. You might be cramped, but at least you won't have the "urge" of killing anyone. In the long run all of you will be better off....your mother-in-law will be happy, you'll be happy, and your boyfriend will be happy because he won't have to decide between his mother or girlfriend. yeah! my mil
loves to rush to the door to open it when her son arrives,
pick up the phone when he calls, ( and he gives that stare at me as though i was lazy sitting around---- but then what am i supposed to do ? have a running race with my mil?)
buy and stitch his lungis,
serve him the food that i cook ,
and have a report from him on the daily events of our life.
dont worry u have still many things to come!!!!!!!

You are pregnant now and need your boyriend now more than ever before. Wish you and your boyfriend had to move in else where other than his mother's house.
Becareful not to let both of them notice that you are bothered about how they relate it could hurt them.
