There is surgery to fix it available. Bowlegged has its problems too!

sometimes being knock-kneed (genu valgus) is the result of weakness in the hips. Think about it: if the thigh bone is not being steered correctly at the hip, it can wander toward the midline and make you knock-kneed.

Or, look at the other end = do you have flat feet? Collapse of the foot arches will also drop your knees together.

Your physical therapist is the biomechanics and movement science expert on your health care team. Get with a PT to help you get to the bottom of all this, and hopefully they can help you correct this without surgery.

Go to APTA.org, click on "Find a PT", and search your home area.

Well, the only way to remedy the situation is to lose some weight. although it will not cure the constant rubbing, it wont look as bad. knock-kneed people tend to be smarter than their aloof counter-parts.
