I think Jack still has a thing for Kate, but he's falling into the other's set using Juliet since she looks a lot like his ex-wife. So I think he feels attracted to her to a certain degree.
It's hard to tell though because Jack is such a good guy and is willing to help anyone.
My original thought was if a Kate and Sawyer hooked up, then Jack and Juliet would hook up... but after last night, Kate and Sawyer seem to be over and you get the impression that Kate does love Jack... and that will probably lead to another love triangle between Jack, Juliet and Kate.

In a sense, Jack and Juliet are currently in the same type of situation. They are both stuck on the island and forced to do what they must to survive. Also, Juliet just helped Kate and Sawyer escape. I think that Jack feels a bit of a connection to her now. She helped his friends and because of that her life was in danger. Jack is not the type of person to just sit back and let her pay for that. Plus, Juliet is the closest thing that Jack has to a companion on that Other island.

I think the writers are trying to get a romantic thing going between Jack and Juliet, but it won't work out because he's just a clone of a dead guy.

He sympathizes with her since he realized that she is a prisoner of the Island just like Jack is. So he's hoping both of them can topple the Others chain of command and get OFF the island.

Okay I have been a huge Lost fan since day one and I'm actually sorry I stayed up till 11 to watch last night's episode cause it sucked. I have NO clue what is going on with them. He might like her because she looks like his ex I really don't have any answers for that show anymore. However, how lucky was that asian girl who got to hook up with him throughout the entire episode! I could have died.
Anyway last night it kind of seemed like he's going to join "the others" like when they were in the boat going to thier "home". "he walks among them but is not one of them". Sounds like he might reluctantley be joining them and Kate and crew will go back for nothing because he will feel obligated to stay and take care of Ben to protect Juliette. Anyway those are my thoughts, sorry this was so long. Thanks :)

I think they had a bit of a connection in yesterday's episode. It could be the start of something for them.
