What we save on food we more that have to pay in over crowded hospitals, schools, social services, welfare, etc., etc. The question is who is not paying? The taxpayers are paying for all the added services illegal require to live, and it is these same Americans whose wages are going down because of the pressure of cheap labor. The ones who are not paying either the higher wages or for the social costs of the illegals are the corporations who illegally hire them. They have very cleverly cut our pay and benefits by hiring the illegals and then dumped the tab on us. http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0308-20.htm
It is time we all wake up and get involved in public policy, for someone is pulling the wool over our eyes.

All Mexican illegals won't be sent back. For some who have been here beyond 5 years, I believe they would want to become US citizens or become a part of a "guest worker" program in order to maintain their jobs. For the sake of answering your questions, if ALL were sent back, the Feds would most likely have convicts from prisons picking fruit and vegetables, much like the means by which our highway trash is picked up by them. Any hikes in food prices would even out the reduction of costs in the medical areas, school taxes would be reduced, & overall taxes would be leveled off or reduced in states where extra funds are now being used to give illegals free medical care, tax-free education for their children, & so forth. Hikes in food prices would be at a minimum, except for fruit since pickers can't be replaced by machines to do the work.
