double click !!!!! no use!! its forcing me to right click and make it open?

Question

my drives are not opening when i double click them and also if they are opened, they are opening in a new window.
i have set all the options in the TOOLS menu i.e to open the file in same window.

Microsoft addressed this issue some days ago after a recent security update which causes this problem.

go to TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS>GENERAL
At the CLICK ITEMS AS FOLLOWS option, select
DOUBLE CLICK TO OPEN AN ITEM

click APPLY & then OK
