bothered to report them anymore. Sometimes they are good for 2 points...but I don't think they really read the answers anyway. They have, in effect, become totally ineffectual. Anybody else feel this way?

I definitely feel this way. A long time ago, I stopped responding to anyone with blatant hate just out to cause a ruckus. I still respond occassionally to people who have negative opinions on homosexuality but seem to have genuine questions and are open to logical explanations, but even then it's hard to get up the gumption to type the same old stuff over, and over, and over again . . .
Funny, I remember first coming to this site and seeing the talk about trolls and RAMO and all that, and finding it odd. Even now, when it's old news, nothing's changed. Doesn't make me angry, really, just thoughtful, I guess.
Basically, I barely even see the offensive questions, and if I do, they usually just make me laugh (particularly questions that treat "bull dykes" like animals . . . oh kkk-jew-hater, when are you going to get some new material?).

Yeah I agree with you, but to be honest it has two effects on me. Either I just skim through the questions until I find something worth answering, ignoring all trolls or I stay away from answers for a while. Trolls seem to attack in phases, some days/nights they seem more prevalent than others. I don't really answer there 'questions', as: a) the points don't mean that much to me anyway and b) the more answers they get the more attention they get and the more likely they are to keep reappearing.

I don't understand what motivates people to continue responding.
And no, I don't think they are good for 2 points, unless you're letting others know that the post has been reported. Otherwise, get your 2 points from spending that time doing something that will actually help someone, rather than encouraging the behavior by giving them attention.

You are "older" and wiser now. It doesn't faze you anymore I'm sure. But new people join the site every day so the Lulus and Olgas and haters are sure to rile them up. These clones and abusers will never stop because there is always somebody somewhere willing to give over some of their energy to them with a gut response.

Yeah, they are annoying, but rather amusing in how the totally make themselves look stupid.

I don't pay attention to them anymore. When I go into this forum, I enjoy the questions and answers from LGBT people and their families and friends -- or even serious questions from people who are just curious about sexual orientation.
