Apollo 11. Our first trip to the moon. That is something very spectacular - and it doesn't matter what country you are from.
I don't think wars or attacks are that important since there has been tons of them, and there will contine to be fighting everyday. But to say we put a man on the moon, I think that gives us hope. The sky is no longer the limit, we can go into space, and space is infinite, so there is no limit.

In my opinion, the most significant events of the 20th century were World War I, which totally decimated the male population in England, France, and Germany and gave rise to Adolf Hitler, and World War II , which changed the world forever. The advent of flight, the cure for polio, and (especially) the invention of the computer chip also rank very high. To narrow all important events down to the MOST significant would be very difficult.

The development of Einstein's Theory of Relativity. I don't know why yet (working on it) but it appears that this knowledge and its implications is the most significant discovery in science for at least the past 300 years, as well, the sociological implications based on its understanding of time/space will continue to change the way humans think about themselves and their world for another 300 years to come.

I believe it would be the 2004 indian ocean Tsunami... this represents the impacts of natural disasters upon mankind who is now focused of technology and globalisation. With over 200,000 deaths, it was a global focus point of attention resulting in millions of $$ in goodwill being raised for civilians and casualties of the event. This would be a signification event in recent history but I believe the murder of JFK and the conspiracy of that day regarding Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby.

the top of the Minoan civilisation with the explosion of Thera. the story is going that the volcanic eruption killed each physique on the island and sent a great tsunami which struck the north coast of Crete and killed something. there is powerful archaeological info that this experience and the civilisation it destroyed have been the source of Plato's Atlantis, and that i think i might want to be sure if it performed out the way archaeologists think of it did.

Going fairly recent (last 50 years) I would say the invention of the computer, or more specifically, the microprocessor, or microchip. Almost all new technology revolves around this little guy.

World War II.
That war and the actions taken afterwards is the reason why the world is really how it is now.

aside from jesus christ dying for our sins .I would say slavery..every technological advance and agricultural advance is directly related to the free labor provided by slaves...imagine america without slaves how different life wouldve been..imagine the world without America and that is how impactful the slave trade was...The first truly American business....Now as white people the concept may be to disturbing to accept..But that is why it is what it is...chuuuuuuuch
