1. Millau Birdge, France - because it looks amazing and is a fine example of modern engineering

2. St Pancras Station London - Same reason as above, just a little less modern, and compared to some of the ugly looking sheds in London, this is still head and shoulders for me

3. Guggenheim Museum Bilboa - Frank Gehry finest creation

4. Petronas Towers, Malaysia - another fine piece of engineering and manages to retain an oreintal look.

5. The Eiffel Tower - Seen at night or day, this is a must.

6. Channel Tunnel - 31 miles under the sea, very clever, just hope we don't go to war with France

7. Dubai and The Jumeirah Palm island. - Just a dusty old desert, but now must be the most developed city in the world. I may be wrong, but I heard a statistic that about 25% of all the tower cranes in the world are in Dubai

Thats my list, lots i could of included but these are my wonders

I have a question related to this also. It's hard to choose 7 out of the 21 proposed. Each of the 21 is unique in it's own way. It's pretty unfair to choose only 7.
Here are the ones I would choose:

The Acropolis of Athens, Greece; - it's one of the few standing structures of Ancient Greece, which was the cradle of civilization and democracy

Statues of Easter Island - Truly a wonder as nobody knows who made them

The Great Wall of China - It's length and the scale of the construction is extraordinary. In today's time nobody could build such a thing.

The Pyramids of Giza, Egypt ; Not only to they symbolize perfection but also they can't be built in today's time because we lack the technology. A wonder that will remain a mystery...

Stonehenge, Amesbury, United Kingdom; - Another wonder and a true mystery since we don't know it's purpose and how it was built.

The Roman Colosseum. Rome, Italy - The first stadium ever built. Modern stadiums are built on the same principle.

The Eiffel Tower, Paris, France - The symbol of Paris, city of love.

Two and a half thousand years ago a Greek scribe, Philo of Byzantium, wrote out a dazzling list of wonders "Sights seen in the minds eye" he said "Can never be destroyed". That ancient list still haunts the modern world. We see the ancient 7 wonders in everything we are today.
We see them in our art, our architecture, even in our own body image, they are in everything. Everything that is from the face of the Gods to the body of Kylie Minogue.
These wonders could never be replaced by modern things. They don't have that marvellous ingredient called Wonder.
We build the tallest building in the world and it looks like it was made with children's building blocks. Great oblongs stretching into the sky and made of grey concrete. Why are skyscrapers always grey?
The 7 wonders of the world were made from Ivory and gold, marble and porphyry and bronze. There was a garden on the banks of the Euphrates in Iraq, that was so beautiful itself became a wonder. Insurpassable.

To be honest there are so many awesome sights on this planet that to name only 7 or 8 is impossible.
Who decided which 7 were the best anyway? And when?

the whole of N/Ireland since moving here I discovered it was breathtakingly beautiful why isn't everyone told!Next the manatee I know its a mammal but why not its such a beautiful gentle creature so devastatingly caught up in mans ignorant ways. Then Pompey amazingly preserved history to behold and be humbled by thinking we have it hard today. The millennium dome as a monument to mans outlandishness and selfishness in one glance.for such a need to have the world view us as rich and uprising we let the scales of justice stay ridiculously one sided and the weight to be bore by our children while building them a monumentally mockery that's cost will come down on their shoulders too.A new born child its about time this innocent needy fragile bundle became a wonder to behold again rather than overlooked cast aside or used as a pawn.Next a snow flake with its intricate pattern and delicate form why such beauty too tiny to see and with no need to attract, as like that of a flower. Then I'd choose mankind as intricate as the snowflake with involuntary muscles and flowing blood.organs and sinews tissues and genes. A complex secret garden of matter and how not one of us respect this in ourselves and others creating paths of destruction within causes this to me to be the biggest wonder of all why we are all so insistent on becoming extinct.

tianamen square, respected as a stage for world leaders and haunted for its nastiness in world history
the Eiffel tower, Victorian ingenuity and a peaceful representation of France, the birthplace of human rights and civilised society should Europe require a gloss over current social problems
