I'd think there'd be more to write on in the theatre section, but it's really up to which one you find more interesting. Actually, what you SHOULD do is come up with a really weird and interesting topic from the theatre one. Your teacher will be eating out of your hand. That's my tip: teachers will overlook a weak paper if the topic is interesting enough and shows thought.

Of the two, I'd go with Washington Irving.

19th Cent. American Theater...there's more options to go for your paper. But it really just depends on what you want to write about and what your ideas are at this time.

NEITHER. They both sound effing boring. Write about the Military-Industrial complex or how big business helps presidents get into office. Now THAT stuff is interesting as hell.
