I like keeping up to date on the situation in the country in the world with the highest UN "gender parity" ranking, fjordman's blog is quite good for that:

http://fjordman.blogspot.com/2005/12/immigrant-rape-wave-in-sweden.html

"The number of rape charges in Sweden has tripled in just above twenty years. Rape cases involving children under the age of 15 are six - 6 - times as common today as they were a generation ago. Most other kinds of violent crime have rapidly increased, too. Instability is spreading to most urban and suburban areas."

"According to a new study from the Crime Prevention Council, Brå, it is four times more likely that a known rapist is born abroad, compared to persons born in Sweden."

"Lawyer Ann Christine Hjelm, who has investigated violent crimes in Svea high court, found that 85 per cent of the convicted rapists were born on foreign soil or by foreign parents."

Oh BTW the woman in the picture was *actually* raped, not "I was too confused to say no, not sure if I should tell anyone" raped. That's generally what an actual rape victim looks like.

Anyway a tripling of the increase in rape in the most "progressive" country in the world is rather interesting... what on earth could have caused it?

Actually wenders I'm basically ambivalent about the racist component, and the rape component for that matter. I just think it is ironic and amusing that the implementation of progressive values results in a tripling of the rape rate for some reason.

Sorry to disappoint you're obviously eager to discredit me, seeing as how much I thrash your ideology on here.

haha wenders I can't make up my mind whose side I'm on here. I don't really have a problem with Islam, but then I have a problem with the Swedish culture more. I'm sort of hoping the Muslims raze Sweden to the ground really. And yeah I did laugh quite a bit. The irony of feminist ideology on things like rape doesn't exactly stem the flow of my mirth on these subjects you know.

Sweden is a haven for immigrants from certain countries, where women are considered wh*res if they dress a certain way, and fair game.

Well..............carefully thinking about this I'm thinking if the population was currently what it is today or not that would make all the difference in the world as to what you are implying here. It the population remained the same relatIvely then you are probably on to something but if the population has tripled then that would be the simple solution to what you are talking about. So if we take into consideration what ive just stated but found the population remained the same then I would tend to look at the poverty rate which we know its a socialistic government but poverty their is different then in the United States but on a whole more times than not, poor is a significant factor in any types of crime. Possibly alcoholism too. Stress creates alto of tension and therefore manifests alcoholism. I used to be quite acquainted with some Swed's many years ago and they are pretty good at putting a couple under their belts due to hardship of weather where they come from. I think its a main staple in a Swedish home. This is all total speculation and nothing written in stone but I love Statistics and Psychology, I'm a boring NERD so to speak. Hope you find the answer and please let me know if you find out. Good Luck.

Well...according to the opinion of your source, it was immigration that caused it. Did you not read the whole article? Since you put such credence in "fjordman's" opinion, I should tell you that he already answered this question. So why are you asking us?

EDIT--Baba Yaga, is, of course, correct, but this is nothing new coming from Happy, he loves this kind of stuff (posted anything by the "Christian Party" lately, Happy?) so, again I wonder why he comes here to ask US when his racist hero has already given him an answer. Maybe the answer, while plenty racist, just wasn't sexist enough...and Happy hates that! I guess he's hoping some of his fellow sexists here can supply him with an answer, and then he'll just wet his pants!

EDIT--You're "ambivalent" about racism, Happers? Meaning...that you can't make up your mind about it? Generally one is pretty strongly pro or anti racism...I'm not sure you know what "ambivalent" means. At any rate, I don't believe you think it's ironic, I think you think it's damn funny...you probably crowed with delight.
And you "thrash" my ideology on here? Even you don't really believe that, Haps.

Another 'ingredient' you have conveniently ignored: reporting rates are higher (du-uh).

I can sure tell you what will go a long distance towards stopping it: MUCH STIFFER SENTENCING FOR CONVICTED OFFENDERS.

EDIT: "Wendy G"
I think we BOTH know the answer to your question...and now, let me add "deportation of convicted offenders" to my answer.

EDIT: I just had a glance at this 'story': "knowmeansknow" was correct: absolute sensationalist, racist claptrap. No credibility, no authority. In short, the mad rantings of a CRANK.

This is a bunch of anti-immigrant, racist BS (unfortunately, prevalent in Europe these days).
