Only is you give both of my dogs a bath and change my cat box. Oh yeah, I want grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken and rice soup, and Peppermint Patty Klondike bars for lunch. If you agree to those terms, sure, I will come over.

You need to take charge of your house and of you. If you have one spider's web then that is what you have, not the municipal dump! This is your house not her and you need to take back your territory. Do the best you can to clean and tidy for her arrival; that is just good manners and shows respect for your guest; BUT do not tie yourself in knots over it. Your 4 year old will sense your tension and become fractious and then you will have a cranky child and spider's webs! I am guessing you are quite young yet and it takes time to get over the critical behaviour of parents, but you can. When my, late, mother-in-law would find dust on the skirting boards I would say "Oh my, you're right! You are so much better at seeing that than I am" and then I'd fetch her a duster. Relax, unless you really are living in a filthy house you won't come to any harm from a little dust and webs. Make sure you clean then rooms she will be in most first! This is where we Brits have an advantage over your North Americans :) We don't do the open plan thing so we can shut doors and keep mothers-in-law out of dirty rooms.

Heck no! I just now sat down. So tired I can't even think. I still have dishes to dry too! I think you should come over and help ME! I will make you your favorite meal and some pie!

May I borrow your "helpers" when they are done? You'd think with modern technology they could invent a "clean house" or maybe press the easy button.

Actually....I would. I like cleaning but I don't think you'd want me to come clean for you. I'm anal retentive and I would want to re-organize EVERYTHING.
