There isn't a city or area in China that has the climate most akin to that of Southern England, I'm afraid!

In the winter it's bitterly cold, and in the summer it is unbearably hot and humid.

It's a GREAT place to go though!! You'll LOVE it!

Simple answer is none I'm afraid. Northern China is generally extremely dry, rarely rains, 32+ degrees at height of summer and below freezing during middle of the long winters.

As the country is so large, conversely, Southern China is intensely humid, regularly above 90% humidity throughout the 34 degree summer months. It cools considerably during the brief winter months but rarely dips below 10 degrees.

The middle of the country, say Shanghai, can suffer from the hot and cold extremes of both northern and southern China.
