Outhouse Racing.

That's what they've been doing for 24 years now in the North Central Washington town of Conconully. It's friendly residents add to the winter-time entertainment with it's annual outhouse races.

Visitors and residents alike build 4X4X5 wooden houses affixed to snow skis and push bars and race them down main street for prizes and money. Over 300 people flocked to Conconully the weekend of January 13th/14th for this year's running of the Outhouse Races.

Back in December the BBC did a report on the World Santa Championships held in Switzerland. A bunch of people organized in teams dressed as Santa where competing in every thing from a sled pulling race, chimney climbing (carrying a heavy sack) and even a donkey delivery contest.

Group that was in charge of this contest was treating it like a regular sport and they even had judges. The winners won prize money.

I don't know where it is from but I saw these two guys whipping each other on a documentary. They had a brief clip of it on the movie on Dodge-ball. This is way cool. The people of the town or country or whatever dry a bull penis and intestine, stretch it out and make a whip out of it. The game/sport is simple. Two opponents tie their free hand together (left hand to left hand) and they begin to whip each other one at a time till the other guy gives up. I think it is a right of passage or some macho thing.

Ancient Mayan ball game. They used a rubber ball about 20 cc large and were allowed to pass the ball around w/o using hands or allowing to touch the ground. The object was to put the ball through an iron ring high up on the wall of the outside court.
Extremely difficult and, usually just one score determined the outcome. The winners were hailed as heroes & the losers were put to death.
I've seen the courts, but never witnessed a game - thanks be to God.

I saw a Japanese event where they drank like a 2 liter of water then they sat and had a machine with a punching glove "punch" them in the blatter to see who could stay seating there the longest without having to go to the bathroom or peeing themselves... not really a sporting event, but strange it was

haha...sheep dog trials are perfectly normal to us Aussies and Kiwis! I'm an Aussie and the weirdest sport is one invented by those from the land of Oz...it's midget bowling. Basically we use to throw midgets at bowling pins!
