Wow this is really a tough question, its sorta like Lays potato chips I can't just have one.

The guy that said Tyson Chandler, you're not crazy Chandler maybe the most dominating rebounder in the league right now, but not the most dominating player.

I'm a Mavs fan and my first instinct is to say Dwyane Wade. But I think he gets special consideration because Shaq is on his team and the Heat won the championship last year. What was Wade able to do this season without Shaq? Pretty much just middle of the road in the East fighting for a playoff spot. Isn't that pretty much what Kobe did in a tougher Western Conference after Shaq left? I've seen some games from T-Mac on TNT where the guy just can't be stopped. Jon Barry said it tonight on ESPN and it's true "Nobody makes more tougher shots in this league than Tracy McGrady"

Dirk Nowitzki is an unstoppable force that no one has an answer for. To the guy that said Ryan Bowen shut him down, is that guy even in the League anymore??? Obviously Dirk had an off series against the Rockets, but what about game 5 against the Suns in the Western Conference finals last year, think he was pretty unstoppable that night, think he dominated?

It's so hard to pick I just don't think there is one dominant player. I do think there is one dominant team however and they reside in Dallas, TX

Right now it has to be Dwyane Wade.

Everyone saw what he did in the Finals last year, carrying his team through 7 games on the biggest stage.

And when he has to come through for his team, he does.

Unlike some of the other stars, like Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki, Wade can carry the load without a strong supporting cast on the floor (I know he has Shaq, but despite what Sportscenter and ABC want you to think, Shaq has gotten old, slow, and injury prone).

I would say Steve Nash is second, and you can compare the Suns record with and without him to see the difference he makes.

Lebron has the potential, Kobe could always start dominating like he did during much of last year, Dwight Howard has a very bright future, Arenas is tough to contain, and Melo is getting close...but right now I would say Dwyane Wade is the most dominant player in the NBA.

...but I still miss MJ.

Not a clear cut dominant player like Shaq from years passed but I'm going to have to go with Kobe offensively just because we have all seen him rise to any occassion and do well

I'm still laughing at those who put in Dirk No-Win-zki

here's the inside scoop, a dominant player doesn't consistently get shut down by shootingguards and small forwards like MCGrady, Posey, and Ryan Bowen. As a 7 footer you shouldn't be able to be taken out of the game by wing players but he is consistently and can't seem to do anything about it.

if right now you asked me who is the best skilled player, i would have to go with lebron or d-wade. kobe is the best offensive player, but his defense has weakened recently. wade and lebron are much stronger defensively than kobe. however, the most dominant player is a split.

theres Dwyane Wade. amazing. watch him in the fourth quarter. he gets the ball, comes in, turns his back to the basket from the left elbow, spins, fades, swish. even if you know its coming you can't stop it. he can pass, dunk, steal, and shoot. then theres tim duncan. yeah. tim duncan. his stats arent as spectacular as a couple of years ago, but there is no player like him. he can dominate inside offensively, can shoot very well from 20 feet in (including that automatic bank shot). he is an excellent passer out of the double team, making him a multi-dimensional offensive threat. then on defense, he has been NBA All defensive 2nd team or better EVER YEAR of his career and has been ALL nba 2nd team or better. his shotblocking is always above 2 and his rebounding is always double digit. 3 time finals mvp, 2 times regualr season mvp.

Dwyane wade and time duncan

I've got to go with Kevin Garnett. I think the guy has so many tools to be the most dominant player in the game. What better team is there than a team full of Garnetts. The guy can do it all and is consistently amazing every year.

dominant in what way:: in the paint, at the point, posting up, dunking, defence... there's so many players that are the best at one thing but lack in others. To say the most dominant player you would have to set up some sort of point system and see who comes out on top.

There is no dominant player right now that is comparable to Shaq, but now Shaq is old... so he is no longer the force he once was.

But for answering the question I think it's a tie between: Kevin Garnett, Chris Bosh, or Dwight Howard.

NONE. About 5 or 6 years ago, it was Shaq, but obviously, he doesn't have the hops right now. Two to three years from now, Dwight Howard will be the next most dominant.

you would be surprised, but i think tyson chandler. yes, tyson chandler. averaging an astonishing 12.2 REB per game, he is helping me win in fnatasy every single week. he has a franchise record 14 consec. games with at least ten rebounds.
my second most dominent player: either ray allen, steve nash (who just came back from an injury) or dwyane wade (who just entered an injury).
you guys might think im a retard because of my thoughts, but check the stats and you'll see what i mean

Offensively, I'm going to say Dirk Nowitzki. He knows how to use his particular skills better than anyone else, without having to rely on bogus fouls called against him. Overall though, it's probably Dwyane Wade. He can slow down most gaurds and small forwards and he fights into teh lane better than most everyone (he does get some bogus calls though).
