it's a dense wood table, and no matter how hard i try, the screws are still sticking a 1/2" out of the wood. besides drilling a bigger hole, is there a screwdriver that offers more leverage than my puny arms provide?

Remove the screws, and then coat them with a small amount of regular dish soap. Now try screwing them in again...the soap will act as a lubricant and allow you to get them all the way into the screw hole. Good luck.

get yourself a drill and a drill bit suitable for wood @ 1/8'' smaller than your screw size. Drill the hole the desired depth, and then try your table screws. It's not the size of the screwdriver, but the brain of the guy who is driving.

Contact the place you bought it. Then you will help your self and the place you bought it. Maybe its wrong with all the tables fittings.
