It has been shown that taxing these things heavily discourages kids from getting addicted in the first place. And since govenrments have to pay a lot in health care costs for tobacco addicts and alcohol abusers, it's only fair that people who use these substances should help pay rather than having all the costs come out of general revenues, that is, taxes also paid by non-smokers and non-drinkers.

Show the same amount of interest in good things u'll get addictive to that.
There is no finite list for good things.Example :Try to avoid smoking ,liquor....Itself a good thing instead of searching for good things.
Don't tell that u can't avoid these...How did u get that bad habit? Might be from bad friends and culture but u were good before getting addictive to these habits..Try the same in good also.get yourself in good surroundings and good friends.
