Most airlines will ship pets. You will just need to call them and get the requirements and prices. My guess would be that it would cost a minimum of $150 to ship a rat, but I do not know for sure.

The only legal/ safe way to ship is via airlines. When I've shipped rats, I've used and had good luck with continental airlines.

The cost will be about $140 for the ticket (including the taxes), and you'll need an airsafe rat-approved carrier which will be $20-35. You can get info on that from the airlines, or feel free to ask me for links to shipping carrier suppliers. Continental doesn't require a health test for rats, but it may not be a bad idea to have her checked to be sure she's fit.

Also- does she have a buddy, or do you plan to get her one? Rats do best in pairs/groups, so she'd be much happier with a buddy if she doesn't have one!

ASK WHOEVER IS GOING TO SHIP YOUR GIRL RAT TO CALL AN AIRLINE OR YOU CAN CALL AN AIRLINE AND GET RATES ETC. AND CAGE REQUIREMENTS ETC. YOU MIGHT FIND INFO ON THE INTERNET SEARCH. BE SURE TO MEET YOUR LADY RAT AT THE AIRPORT WHEN SHE ARRIVES ON TIME.
