can someone answer this. If approximately 70% of the world surface area of 510 million km2 is covered by water what area is land

If 70% is water, then 30% is land. You have the total surface area already, so figure out what 7/10 and 3/10 of that area is.

Yes, you need to take the 510 and DIVIDE NOT MULTIPLY it by 0.7 or the 70 %. It is backwards from FINDING 70% of something my multiplying that 100% number by the 0.7 you get the 70 % of something. So, you divide instead. And to check your answer, multiply it by the 0.7 (getting the 70 % all over again) and you should get about 510.

so that leaves 30% of the world is land take the 510 and find about 20% of that and it should give u a good guess at what is land....im not that great at math but thats how i would do it
