After everyone figures out how much their alloted energy will be under the Kyoto treaty, and keeping that 18 trillion dollar national debt in mind, I don't think people are going to be comfortable with the global warming thing. For instance if you fill a glass with water, add ice cubes, when the ice melts, it doesn't overflow, (try it yourself) in violation of the "global warming-polar ice caps raising oceans theory". The best thing for sanity is if sound science and clear thinking happens before the election. The sun is radiating more energy, that too is fact. This said, we do need to quit depending on foreign oil, Nixon told us this in 1974. We need more alternative energy, BUT not when it is simply handing the big energy companies ripping us off now control ove rthe next source, we need indivuals with their own small scale solar/wind/hydro or fuel cell power systems, or municiapl or cooperative owned, generating at point of consumption, not through hundreds of miles of vulnerable transmission lines that must be imported down to the last bit of hardware from overseas. BOTH parties are ready to hand this over to big corporations, just a question of which ones. Most of these campaigns end up being over stupid issues like marital infidelty or gay marriage, or where someone went to school when they were 8 (as if they got to decide). Ultimately, the well being of the economy, and my wallet, is most crucial to my survival, I live in an area now being overun by animals vanquished two centuries ago, I think the enviroment will take care of itself since the laws passed in the '70s have made a difference. I'm skeptical we caused or can change the climate issue, and I doubt anyone wants to live in stone age conditions to meet the requirements. It ultimately comes down to money, because that is what determines our own survival, like it or not.

I don't have a list for '08. My list of important things is booked up through '07.

Peoples' lives always top my "Important Things" lists, however.

It is on the bottom of my concerns.

Some one that was an environmentalist wacko in any degree would never get my vote
