I went to the place where the person works and wanted to give him candy, a gift, and card for Valentine's day last week and he would not accept it. He said that it is inappropiate to give at a office. When I went back to the place in the afternoon that day where the person works he took it out of his mailbox and put it on the floor next to the desk by the secretary.

He also said that he has a great relationship with his fiancee. They live together but aren't married. Can't a friend accept candy, gifts, and cards for each holiday from another friend?

How well do you know this person? Seems to me that he does not want someone at home to see this gift. It is good that he rejected if he is in a serious relationship and he did not miss lead you. He should have told you why he rejected the gift, such as no thank you I am already involve with someone else, or no thank I am not interested.
