Seriously, when are they going to?!?!?! I assume you were probably watching them play the Blazers on FSN. It was painful to watch how many open shots they gave the Blazers, particularly Jarret Jack and Lamarcus Aldridge. They also were horrible on stopping dribble penetration. Really their defense is just horrid. But you do have to cut them some slack I mean with all their injuries. Kwame's out, Luke's out, Radmonovic (which I just found out) is out, Chris Mihm has been out forever, and Lamar just came off his injury. The injury bug has been hitting the Lakers hard recently. However, that's not an excuse, they should and can play good team defense. I swear I couldn't watch them play tonight with such horrible defense. A 7 game losing streak seems likely to me if they don't step up defensively. Now the fans can't chant defense anymore, because there is none!!!

Maybe when Phil Jackson starts coaching it. Seriously, when have the Lakers been good defensively against the pick and roll under Phil since he's come back? Oh, right, they haven't been.

when they get a real power forward and center, they will be fine. right now, bynum is young and soft. kwame has been a bust since jordan drafted him. brian cook thinks he's ray allen. rodmanovich is a shooter not a defender. turiaf is a d-league player stuck in an nba body. the hell with kidd's old butt! they better go after somebody like kevin garnett, zach randolph, jermaine o'neal, or elton brand. then and only then will they be able to develop interior defense.

When any of them can play defense. They are totally offensive minded.

when they get kidd, they'll get away with a mediocre defense because their new PG will make them look good in offense.
