Chromium. Taking this one supplement can help you dramatically reduce your craving for sugar and help you body process the sugar properly. Here's a link: http://www.mynsp.com/carole/products/guide.aspx?stockNum=1801 . I give it to my children when they get amped up on sugar (like at halloween and valentines) and the difference is fast and profound.
Of course you will want to talk to your prescribing physician before making changes to your program.
Peace!

You've already started, you know you have to change things and you know what the problem is, at least part of it. Most people who want to lose weight treat it as though the weight is the problem. You've already identified that the inappropriate eating is the problem you have to resolve, the excess weight is the symptom of that problem. I worked for weight watchers for 2 years and some members were with me through that whole time and never realised that, however often I explained it. So you've made a good start. You have also identified 1 reason that you eat inappropriately, you are a comfort eater. Very common.
1st step is learn about and understand your condition. Keeping your insulin levels under control will help with your sugar cravings and managing the condition general will help you feel more in control and less depressed about your health.
Get help and support, I'd recommend weight watchers every time. It's tough going it alone, the help and support of other people in the same situation is invaluable. if a meeting really isn't for you then try the online version.
You need to take control, think of it as though you are in the driving seat of a vehicle. You have been letting it career all over the place, now it's time to take hold of the steering wheel and control where you are going. You're not used to doing this so you will make the odd mistake but that doesn't mean you should let go of the wheel and let the vehicle go out of control again. You can do it, it may take a bit of work, but you can do it.
Good luck.

The first step is finding the problem and learning to love yourself. I truly believe that people that have weight related health issues, including me, are suffering first and foremost from a shortage of self love. If you love yourself you don't abuse yourself, but what you (and I) have done is self abuse. The over-eating likely started because of an emotional hole inside you. What caused that hole?
I suggest that you go on a quest for a healthy self esteem, body, and mind. You should try starting with counseling and some good self help books. "The Real You" by Kevin Leman is a good one to start with. Look up others that might help you deal with your own personal issues.
Make a list of all the things you like about yourself.
List any accomplishments you've had.
Start learning to love you.
Also think of any physical activities you enjoy. Even if it is something that is not so active like say... fishing... it can still pave the road to more activity. Start by packing a healthy lite lunch and spending the day at the lake once a week, maybe alone, maybe with others. Then you may find that you realize you 'd like to go boating. That may lead to water skiing. The point is to move and have fun moving-- get out and live!
I find that Yoga and meditation are very helpful with both handling stress and learning to like me more.
I think The South Beach Diet is the most useful diet out there, and I've tried most of them. SBD is designed to tackle the health issues you are suffering and yet not starve you or leave you feeling deprived.
Most importantly... Don't despair. You can change your life. You can have a healthier, happier world, just love yourself and have fun!
I pray you blessings!

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I would suggest you contact the Diabeties council.
they have free help with buying food, even do grocery shops with groups, so you get to know what food is good and bad carbs.
This will help with weight as well.
and they will have hints on what is good sugar too.
I know there are some natural gells out there that do well.
Just dont eat the whole bag.

Start by setting achievable targets. These targets are to be for :
1.Weight loss
2.Eating volume.
3.Exercising.
4.Sticking to medicine timetable.
Believe in yourself. You can do it if you really want to live longer. If that want is weaker than craving for sugar - the answer is obvious.
