My computer is an HP laptop, no more then 3 months old. And I had this problem almost from the beginning, so i brought it in, and they sent it to get a new motherboard, so i was hopeing that it would be all fixed, but it still doesn't work, so i was just hopeing someone else would have a different solution. And i did try to uninstall quicktime and reinstall it. Everytime that i click itunes, the messages comes up. Even sometimes when i am not doing anything at all, like just talking on AOL, I am unable to hear any sounds, just washed out beeps/.

you need to write down my information, so we can help you.

what kind of computer you have.
who is the maker?
when playing music, can you hear audio?
if yes,
reinstall itunes.
if not
than you have problem with sound driver
you need to reinstall it.
and you can install the sound drive from the website of your computer's manufacture. and is not a damage motherbored

This kind of prob comes mainly if ur sound card had not been fixed properly in the motherboard or if has been damaged ..
If ur motherboard is built in soundcard than that soundcard has been damaged . or
If is attached in the slot than try to Remove and reattch it properly switching off the pc powersupply.

Do you have a mac? If so, open system preferences and click sound. Then go to output volume. Move the slider towards the loud side, that will probably fix everything. Or the mute box might be checked, uncheck it.
