Does anyone know if they are planing to make Eldest into a movie (the second eragon book) or if there will be a 3rd book?

All trilogy novels have 3rd book, my dear. I don't want them to continue the Eldest movie, because Eragon has been too for many people (specially me me) disappointing. I'm a very great fan of Chris Paolini and The Inheritance Trilogy. I don't want them to disappoint people again.
They're just wondering if the 3rd novel would be entitled "Empire". They said it's supposed to be like this: E _ _ _ _ _. It fits, right?

Well i hope they will make eldest a movie, but i don't no. I saw a real quote that said they wanted to see how Eragon would do before begining Eldest.

There will be a third book. It is scheduled to come out this summer. If you want more info on what may be in the third book, you can check out http://www.shurtugal.com/. It's not the OFFICIAL SITE of Paolini, but it's got a lot more stuff that his site. As for the Eldest movie, I don't see how they could make it. First of all, they took out A LOT OF PARTS from the first book in the movie, and these parts/characters become very important in Eldest. Secondly, I don't know if they would even try a second movie, because the first one was terrible. Who knows, maybe it would be a straight to DVD thing, but the movie would likely have LITTLE to do with the book.

I really really loved the movie and the book eragon and I really think they should make eldest a movie too!!!

well they are still deciding based on money in from eragon the movie 1st off 2nd off i agree with the other person 1 to many differences in movie that is a little dissapointing

I hope they do. and I am sick and tired of people saying eragon sucked. It didn't. I loved the movie. They need to shut up.

It seems unlikely the second movie will get made. Several thematic elements from the first book that come up in the sequel didn't make it into the first film, which would make the second film unwieldy at best. Besides, the first film died a painful public death at the box office, so it's a pretty slim possibility that the producers will want to invest the money necessary for the sequel.
As for the third book, who knows? Christopher Paolini seems more like a gifted hobbyist than a professional author, so the book may come or it may not. Only time will tell.
