Osiris is a male diety in ancient Egyptian lore. And is traditionally considered to be a male name.
What gives it a feminine vibe?

I was curious because I work with a Latina girl with this name. She has a ridiculous holier than thou attitude and demands anyone and everyone to be at her beck and call regardless of their rank and very few people have any backbone around her. I was quite surprised to find out she was a girl because I was expecting a guy when I first heard her name.

Since the name Osiris is the Greek corruption of the ancient Egyptian name "Asar" and Asar was a MALE person/god of course I think is a name for a male person, in fact I can't believe there are some ignorant people naming her daughters with this name for MALES.

I think of a boy, so I would've been just like you in expecting a guy after hearing about this person.
I also think of Buffy (which shows where I learn things from :P) because there was a god which someone made a plea to in one of the episodes called Osiris, and from what you said I assume it was 'stolen' from the egyption lore.

I think you might want to research the name a little more. Osiris rolls off the tongue nice and is unique but...Osiris is the god of the dead and the Nile. But I hear a mans name. The feminine twist being iris within the name. Isis is the wife of Osiris in Egyptian myth, both being good and evil in their own way. Remember they believed that there was an afterlife and Osiris ruled it kinda like our heaven and god thing.
Oh-sigh-ris for thous that don't know how to pronounce it

When I hear 'Osiris' I think of a boy but..... the '..iris' part of it makes it sound like a girl because an iris is a flower. When I hear this name I would assume this person as being strong but cold.

A boy. For a female infliction, i'd think more Osiria. For either, it sounds like a strong person, someone who has their own identity and stands out in a crowd, maybe a little eccentric like the name, but creative and imaginative. I'd see an Osiris/ Osiria either being into art, poetry or drama or rocking out in a Metal band.

Went to school witha boy named Osiris so I automatically think of a boy. And he was kind of a cocky arrogant self centered player wanna be. But he would also help anyone out if he saw they needed someone! So I guess the cocky attitude was just a front! Kinda of a tough guy attitude but a teddy bear deep down. Hope that helps :)

Osiris is definately a male name in my opinion. I would normally expect someone with an exceptional name to be an exceptional person, but she sounds like a tyrant
