When I was in labour with my first baby, after a lengthy labour with not much dilating, the doctor said he was going to strip the membranes. It was excruiciatingly painfull! This is my only experience with that procedure though, so I am not sure if it was just me or if it is always a painful procedure.

I had 2 membrane strips within 2 days. They did hurt a little but if you keep calm and breath deeply its not too bad. Afterwards you will probably feel a bit crampy in your belly lower back area. This is a bit like period pains. The important thing is to be relaxed and youll be fine x.

Am sure it does. well it all depends on the situation and the partner you are with. He can make sure it happens peacefully.
