theleb is clueless. The differential has nothing to do with gear ratios. Now, you didn't say what type of road use, if you tow much, front or rear diff, or if you have any other mods. I'll start with the rear end. First, check your RPO list to see if "G80" is there. If so, that vehicle was originally equipped with an automatic locker (not posi) from the factory. If all things are stock, it will serve you just fine. If not, and most of your time is on pavement, then the Eaton posi is a great choice. If you want one for the front end, there are only 2 options, and they are both lockers. First, the Eaton E-locker, which I use, and the ARB Air Locker. But to use the ARB, you must have onboard air.

Depends on your transmission more than anything.
Your first gear ratio is what counts for off-road, and overdrive is what matters for road use. Low ratios, even with overdrive, tend to get hot with higher speeds. 3.56 is normally a good balance IF you have a good 1st gear.
Just remember that in a 4x4 your rear and front gears MUST match or you will break things.
Added: Since hambone thinks I'm clueless about transmission gear ratio's maybe he would like to try running his transmission in a 1:1 ratio all the time / of course this means he would also need about 1000+ horse/torque to get the truck moving from a dead stop (and it would never move as he would break traction or stall the motor) -- For an example of what I mean check out the chart on the link
