The latin word 'humanus' was derived from the Sanskrit
word Manush and Telugu word Manishi (human). The latins
add an extra 'h' to make it easier for their speech
habits.

The Upanishads say that "Manush" (human) was so named
because he has "Manas" - a mind higher than that of the
animals. It is this mind which makes human smarter
in investigating things.
