Without doubt go to Glacier NP. Take the trail from the back of the visitor centre and see a magical view.

If you do not go soon, all the glaciers will be gone !

Let me qualify this. I no longer live in Montana, but having travelled to a majority of our great states I can say that Montana is by far the most beautiful state. The people are great.

Given that, the state is huge, where are you going to go?

Glacier Park is nice, if you like the outdoors and have time try the Bob Marshall Wilderness somewhat south of there. Like rivers, the Missouri and Yellowstone River are great. Fishing, try the streams and rivers around Missoula or Bozeman. Hunting, no place better, pick some public land and have a great time. Looking for some great badlands, try around the Havre area. Some of the most laid back people and beautiful areas are around Red Lodge.

Really you can't go wrong. The state is wonderful. Hope that I can make it back sooner rather than later.

I moved to Montana a few years ago. I live in Kalispell, in the Flathead Valley in NW Montana. I am only 30 miles from the west entrance to Glacier Nat'l Park, and am surrounded by gorgeous mountains every direction I look. The people here are mostly friendly and you can find about anything you want here. The climate is moderated by both the mountains which keep the worst of the winds out of the valley; and by the huge Flathead Lake, which keeps the year round temperatures within reason. This winter, while the rest of the country is freezing and covered in snow with blackouts everywhere, it has stayed fairly comfortable here. If you come to Kalispell, look me up and I'll be your tour guide. I have my Golden Access pass and can get us into places like Glacier NP free. argiod@hotmail.com subject: tour guide

Come to my house. It's a great site.

No, seriously, go anywhere. It depends on what you are looking for. If you are from Idaho, you've seen mountains before. Glacier will still be great, but not as much for you as it would a Floridian.

Are you into history? outdoors? what? We've got it all.
