If you want a specific brand, then I'm afraid I can't help you. I have, however, used a variety of headphones and my recommendation is earbuds with rubber eartips (here's an image if my description is unclear: http://www.scansound.com/Graphics/Sony1.jpg). I find that most headphones have bad sound quality and low noise reduction. Personally, I can't wear most earbud earphones either, because they fall out of my ears very quickly. These, however, fit snugly, the sound quality is great, and the noise reduction is even better. Mine came with my .mp3 player, so I'm not sure how much they retail for, but on basis of quality alone, I would suggest rubber eartip earbuds. I hope this helps! Good luck.

I find the earbuds uncomfortable so I use the ones that fit over the ear. Just recently purchased some Audio-Technica and they sound great and about as compact as you can get.
