The United States is the world’s leading debtor nation, and is now heavily dependent on Chinese capital to underwrite its fast-growing debt. If China ever decides to divert this capital surplus elsewhere, either to internal investment or to the development of oil, gas, and mineral resources elsewhere in the world, the U.S. economy will be in trouble.

China makes most of our electronics as well. The United States no longer produces its own televisions, CD players, telephones, cellular phones, or radios. China is also making significant inroads into our tools and housewares markets and will soon be competing directly in vehicles. Go through a WalMart or Target and see just how much stuff comes from China.

Ofcourse US is partly dependent on China. China has a huge market which is key to US. No market, no profit. China lack behind in hi-tech field, so China needs US too. The cooperation of two large countries is double win. By the way, I am Chinese.

What is even more frustrating is that we are really that dependent on China (not Taiwan) but that is a Communist country much like Cuba, but we wont take anything from there. I would say start dealing with free worlds for cheap labor and stop handing commies all our money. Philippines, Taiwan and Japan just to name a few. If we banned Cuban stuff, then ban Chinese stuff too.
