As a matter of fact I have read the constitution several times!
I also know that the 2007 Defense Authorization Act that Bush signed into law in a private Oval office ceremony on October 17,2006 encroaches on constitutionally protected freedoms as well!!!

no he can't keep himself in power just because he's got some wars going on. however, if there were some kind of major attack on the homeland sometime before the 2008 presidential elections he could decide (being The Decider) to declare marshal law and suspend the elections. i guess the legality of such a move would be very questionable but this is the president who signs signing statements for any reason he decides. if he decides a law shouldn't apply to him then he signs a signing statement and poof! he's above the law. he's brazen enough to try to suspend the election given an opportunity. the question is ... are the American people so complacent and cowed that they would allow him to do so? my mind boggle at the lies and corruptions we Americans have allow the Bush admin to get away with. i sadly have my doubts that America would stand up in unison and say "NO!" to GW and his neoCons if they did decide to install themselves permanently in power.

Many are concerned that Bush/Cheney may try to pull that off. "Due to National Emergency Martial Law is Declared and all Federal Elections are Suspended Until Further Notice." I'm told there are those who would stop this so I just hope that information is correct. If B&C could get away with that they would.

I remember this rumour from Reagan's last year in office. Technically, anything, any action could be cited as a "war" (like the never ending cess pool in the balkans, South Korea or presence in Haiti) but in reality it would take a major conflict and the declaration of war by congress first, and this congress would rather surrender to the enemy.

We aren't at war! The Congress declares war, not the president!
There is a swell to impeach him! That probably won't happen, but I suspect a few more incumbent Republicans will be looking at the door hitting them in the butt on the way oue!

Just wait until early 2008. You'll see an end to the war. Promise.

I assume you mean AFTER the 2008 election. No. Bush will be replaced as President in January 2009.
But, until then he is still the President and he could lock up some Democrats. I don't think he would, but Lincoln did and I think Bush should. I think Bush should have Murtha locked up like Lincoln had Vanlandingham locked up. Same reason, too.

Are you 5 or 6? One day you'll take a course in school called "Civics" and they will explain our constitution to you, unless they are too busy teaching you about "Heather having two Mommies"
Does anybody here now agree we need to get the Government out of our public school system?? Holy Crap you have got to be fuking kidding me.

No, he has served two consecutive terms, he can't even run for re-election this year. Besides, with a democratic controlled house, he would fight like hell to get that to pass.

I don't exactly know what you're asking... but if you're asking if he can make some sort of executive order to extend his term as president... no. Thanks to FDR there is a two-term limit, war or not.
Although, I'm sure if he or his facist cronies had their way, they'd rewrite that law, too.
