Good refusal skills can be very useful in helping you keep what you want and not get what you don't want without loosing what you want to keep. If you can learn how to refuse in the right manner for each circumstance you can avoid loosing face, remain professional or friendly, get your point across affectively, and, ultimately, gain the respect of everyone around you. It sounds wonderful but most people have to work real hard to achieve it. Learning what to say and how to say it in any given circumstance takes trial and error, determination, and support from a trusted mentor or accountability partner.

Well they let people know what you believe,in this case hopefully letting them know that you have made an outright decision that you dont want to...resulting in abstinence...unless they force you.

if u practice saying no to whatever/anything, it becomes more of a habit. habit of saying "no thank you" can also be applied to sex. by saying no, u maintain abstinence. --practice/habit of saying no
