Poles eat freshly killed carp for Christmas, on Christmas Eve. Vodka looms large in many of their traditional social gatherings, particularly some of the "flavoured" ones in the South. In Krakow the lone bugler plays the hejnal from the church tower and stops abruptly midway through each hour - in memory of a 13th century Tatar attack that cut the warning short when an arrow went through his throat. This tune is also played on Polish national radio (as significant as the chimes of Big Ben on BBC radio). There are many folk traditions, particularly in the mountains amongst the goralska, and they always sing 'Sto lat' ("a hundred years") at celebrations and New Year.

Hmmmm... since you did not capitalize the "p" on polish, I would say silver polishing before a meal is a tradition. Putting polish on your nails is a tradition for some.

funny but true traditions:
-polish women with brown hair are obsessed with turning it and keeping it blond
-polish women: OBSESSED with keeping their houses clean
-keeping around a secret stash of 1 bottle of vodka at all times (im not kidding)
-hating russians(deep down)
all of these apply to about 90% of polaks

More serious answers:
-Polish catholics "bless the baskets" every year around easter. (baskets filled with kielbasy, bread, sugar..)
-for the polaks living near the mountains, they are familiar with the tradition of polish polka/polish mountain music. its annoying
-ill put more later when my brain is turned on
