The hormones of pregnancy often affect how hair accepts any chemicals. Most people have no problem with their hair, but if I were you, I would ask my OB-GYN first. We know a lot more about how chemicals effect the fetus than we knew the last time I ran into this as an issue. Also, I have not heard of whitening soap. What is it's purpose?

While some brands of these products use chemicals that are safe, I still think that it would be better to postpone these beauty treatments for later, after the baby is born or even after you breastfeed (if you are planning to). Just enjoy your pregnancy and forget this things for a while and look forward to becoming a mother.

Froma different point, I didn't worry about using hair dye or false nails when I was pregnant, as far as toxicity went, but my hair did not take any dye, did not take a perm and my nails grew so hard and strong that I didn't need acrylics anymore. In other words, my hair looked like crap but my nails were terrific.

Congrats.

Im pregnant also and I had battles with this question. But I talked to my Dr and he said treating your hair is fine. There is not scientific proof it will harm your child. Good Luck!

Please stop...

Your baby's health and intelligence depends on what you do and don't do. WHY risk anything that might damage your baby?
