your cpu or video card might be overheating during the stress games put on it. make sure your cpu fan and video card fan are working properly and are attached properly.

I concur with rabid.

99.9% of the time, if a computers just up and shuts down on you - it's overheating. Since you said you were playing games, it is most likely your graphics card. Check the fans specifically. They will dry up due to dust accumulation and stop turning, which in turn, causes overheating. You can usually hear them degrading when they start making pulsating noises instead of just a smooth hum.

If you recently "tinkered" around in your case, make sure you didn't knock the fan plug loose, or forget to plug it back in. Most fans on the motherboard attach via a jumper-like plug, so they are easy to miss.

maybe your memory overloaded or your graphics card can't handle the picture quality. Try lowering your resolution.
