I put 2. It just makes it easier to read and for the reader to tell the difference between commas and full stops (periods) while reading quickly. I don't think most people (or publishers) do that, though.

In the days of typewriters, it was necessary to insert two spaces. These days, however, most word processing softwares space new sentences for you automatically. It's mostly a matter of style, now, but if you're in school, just do it how your teacher wants it.

After every sentence, use only ONE space.
It has always been 1 space, never 2...........
