Yeah, last night was awful again. I just can't believe what's happening here, the Knicks come off a big win, then the next night they get blown out by a crappy team. It's like deja vu again from last week, when they beat the Lakers then got beaten by the Warriors the very next night. The Knicks this year have been extremely inconsistent, and the more they lose, the less time there is in the race to the playoffs, and with each loss, I am beginning to lose faith in them. However, they still have a fighting chance.
A lot of people are blaming Eddy Curry, but Curry is an asset to the team. The Knicks should definitely keep Curry, he is one of the few consistencies they have right now, as he has become the focal point of offense. The last time we had a focal point on offense was back in the Ewing days, so Curry will be a Knick for a long time, he is the franchise player, and he is very young, and will only improve in the coming years.
The reason the Knicks aren't having a nightmare season like last year under Larry Brown is because they have finally found a go-to guy in Eddy Curry. Curry is great for the Knicks right now, he doesn't get many rebounds or block many shots, but we have a spectacular rebounder in David Lee, who also will be a Knick for a long time, as he is a major force in the Knicks roster right now. What we are missing is a sharp outside shooter, if the Knicks can get that, they will be great again.
I think the inconsistency of the Knicks right now is mental, as they are coming off a horrible season last year under Brown, and now they have coalesced and improved, but still can't mentally move forward after the huge disappoiontments of the past. They need to take steps forward and not look back, what's done is done, and they have a chance to make the playoffs, as the teams they are running up against (Heat, Magic, Nets) are also struggling right now. Once we make the playoffs, anything can happen, I just hope the Knicks realize that they are not the team they were last year, that they are capable of beating any team, and can become top contenders again. It's all in their mentality.
People are blaming Isiah Thomas and his players right now, but when you look at the this Knicks team right now, you can see that their is a lot of talent and potential on that roster. Thomas understands his players, and has gotten them motivated, something Larry Brown couldn't do. And another thing, the players really like their coach, because he believes in them. I believe we have the players we need to succeed. This is the first year that these guys have actually coalesced, so that explains the inconsistency too.
You can't expect them to just come up from winning 23 games one season, and winning 50-60 the next. People are quick to jump on the bandwagon and bash Thomas, the players, and the whole Knicks organization, despite the fact that this Knicks team has shown it can battle the top contenders. They've gone to overtime numerous times this season, and found a way to win, in fact when you look at the games they've lost, it's unbelievable really, that this is the same team that can go to three overtimes against the Pistons and win, that can come back from down 19 points, go to two overtimes, and win, yet on another night can get beaten by 20 points.
The Knicks have shown that they are capable of competing and contending, it's just mentally, they need to find a way to move to the next level. They have shown they are capable of being exciting and capable of winning under pressure, they just need to work on taking the next step and not letting sub-par teams beat them one night after they come off a big win. I hope they realize this soon, because it's sad to see a young team with so much talent and promise never get to the top because of mere inconsistencies. It's also sad to see fans giving up on this team and having no faith in them. Every team has its bad times, its dark days, but they will rise again. So as a true Knicks fans, I'm standing with my team, and I still believe.

I love my knicks, watch every game, read every article. but unless they trade curry(fat, no leap, no defense, overrated) and crawford(ballhog that is praised for making like 1/5 of his last second shots) we will not make it anywhere. Hoping for a trade today for a possible lottery pick, if not, one more year of sub .500
