I say maybe. If not this year then in the near future. The Mets have an AL lineup in the NL, and u know what that means. Also with the additions of off-season pitching improvements, and a chip on their shoulders from last year, they could be dominent in the NL. Willie sure as hell knows what he's doing with those boys. The Yanks are always a solid team, and they have the best coaching staff in baseball (in my opinion), which is what people dont realize makes a tremendous difference. Joe Torre is a 1st ballad hall of fame coach, and i dont care what u say, 1 bad post-season last year doesn't prove jack s-h-i-t, and it sure as hell wasn't enough to get him fired after all he's done with that franchise in the 90's and 2000. I'd like to see other fans' input on this....... PS: i'm a Yankees fan; and please no stupid a-s-s "i hate the Yankees or NY" answers.

Well yes, anything can happen in baseball, and both teams will be good. HOWEVER, neither are great. Both have unstoppable offenses. But, unless the Yankees get Roger Clemens, they have a very vulnerable and weak (old) pitching staff that will do to them what it did last year...lose in the post-season. The Mets have no starting rotation.

I predict Indians and Cubs.

Of course there will be a Subway Series. The Mets and Yankees will take the subway to a sports bar and watch the World Series together, becuase neither of these teams are built for postseason success. Sure they'll both win 90+ games, but when it gets down to the wire in postseason, they both have rosters full of players who disappear in big games. I'm sorry I just don't see it happening. And I say that from the objective point of view of a baseball fan.

No. The Yanks will be there, but the Mets will choke, again. Why don't people get on the Mets about choking. They choked worse than the Yankees. Anyway, the World Series will be the Yanks and Cards. Yanks 4 - 1.

First, I HATE THE YANKEES!!!!! and I don't think to much of the Mets either. But, as a baseball fan I have to say that you could be right! If I were you I would look for it to happen but don't be disappointed when it does'nt! Enjoy the season!!

Mets pitching is average at best. Philly will win the East, Mets will not be the wildcard. But I expect the Yankees will win the East, and lose in the first round. Again.

NO WAY NOT THIS YEAR
IN YOU DREAMS PROBABLY
The last thing MLB and fans from the west need is having another boring Subway Series.
I have no problem with the Mets make it to the world series the would probably not happen anyways, but the Yankees would never make it to the world series until they fired Joe Torre.

Subway Series in NY...
If you consider Boston as a part of New York.

It depends, is there a subway line that runs between Detroit and Philadelphia? Because those two will be in the WS!
