Is it to live it up till death ends it all? Or merely exist till death? Or to go through life as best as we can without any end purpose?

You know it is a shame so many miss so much by not knowing what the most important part of life is.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER
by Erma Bombeck
(Written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner." There would have been more "I love you's." More "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it ... live it .and never give it back. Stop sweating the small stuff.

Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.

Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.

I think she said it pretty well.

You do have a purpose in life!! You may not know it yet, but that is one of the most exciting things about life, you never know where it is going to take you next! It sounds like you have a hard relationship with your mom, but it could be a possibility that she is not happy with your step-dad, and is taking this out on you. Maybe you could try to talk to your mom about this, and let her know that you do not appreciate being yelled at, but you can be there to help her if she needs. It's worth a try, anyway! Just remember that she most likely does not mean any of the negative things she says to you, therefore there is no need for you to lose weight. Eating is one of the many joys in life, so enjoy it! About your bff, I know it may seem like a hard thing at the moment, but if you are important to each other, you will find ways to catch up and talk to each other. Also, you will have new people come into your life that will eventually also mean lots to you, so don't worry about that. Just keep your chin up, there is a purpose to your life! You can get through the tough times and maybe.. later on, you can help others who are going through the same thing that you went through? Maybe that is your purpose? You never know what life has in store for you! All the best..

By the Christian perspective of things, life is pretty much about honoring God by making the right choices, avoid temptation etc. In the end, if you do good, then your name will be remembered on an earthly basis. Really though, altogether, I believe that is for God to know. If you fly too close to the sun, you will burn. (I hope you people can understand THAT metaphor)
