I think they can post the contents, but perhaps not your identity, to the public.

If you write and mail someone a letter can they legally post it on the church bulletin board? Probably, yes. I don't think there is much legal standing for you to stop them.

If you have a legally binding agreement to not disclose the information, or if there is some sort of legal protection involved with the content before you send it to them, then maybe you have something.

Anytime you send information over the Internet, you are passing through multiple servers. Once that happens, you've relinquished any expectation of privacy, since each and every one of those servers can (and mostly do) keep copies of what passes through them.

The only time you stand a chance of it, is if you copyright every word you send on the Internet. However, it likely would be considered public domain for the same reasons I mentioned above, anyway.

I don't think any thing considers private on Yahoo. Unfortunately, i would say YES ! to your answer.
